I have a drawer full of white tees.
Every so often I rifle through them, throwing out old ones that I never wear, replacing them with the new. I am particular about my white tees; they have to be:
bright white,
crewneck, and
the sleeves need to be a certain length. If I am going for the intentionally oversized silhouette, I favor elbow length sleeves that drapes just so, with a softness to boot. If not oversized, I prefer a fitted baby tee with a shrunken fit paired with oversized trousers or a long skirt. And because I love details, extra bonus points if a tee has a single stitch sleeve and hem.
So far I have a few favorites:
Uniqlo crewneck in the men’s size small (super basic but necessary to have, easy on the wallet and accessible)
RLT soft baby tee (the cutest, softest fit that is also super chic)
And one on my wishlist:
Last week I stopped by Sunspel on Sunset Blvd. to pick up a classic t-shirt.
Yes, these tees cost over $100 with tax and no, I usually don’t spend this much on a cotton shirt. But because I had read that Vogue’s Sarah Harris wears them and it is one of her favorite brands for white tees, I had to see (and wear) for myself.
I bought one in a men’s size small, and I am absolutely loving how it feels. The fabric is lightweight and handmade in England, so the quality is definitely there.
I would have never guessed that my idea of the perfect white tee would come from a menswear brand; due to my 4’11 frame, I often limited myself which in turn kept me from taking risks with clothes and styling.
Huge congrats on your pregnancy, Pamela <3 with or without that perfect tee ;)
