what i tried on today

My husband and I are on our mini vacation (hello Vegas) so this post will be quite short. But I didn’t want to let another Sunday pass without sharing my try-ons with you.

I am an unapologetic outfit repeater, but in anticipation of the fall season, I look for basic tees and trousers that will make for great layering and styling pieces every summer.

Whenever we visit Vegas, I always stop by JAMES PERSE at the Wynn. It is a California brand based in Los Angeles, and known for its chic casual wear and luxurious quality.

For tees, I like the brand’s recycled cotton jersey crew, which feels so soft, yet it is not too delicate to care for (it can be machine washed and line-dried). I bought two; one in a true black color and the other in the color Salt.

As for trousers, I love anything oversized, and this drawstring pant in the color Sand Dune was so buttery soft, it can easily double as a pair of pajamas (though I would never wear it as such due to its price point). I tried one on in black with a long sleeved button up shirt. Definitely something I could wear for date night with my husband, but I had to mind my budget for this trip so I had to pass on this set.

I wasn’t in the market for a dress but for fun, I tried on one with a halter top and an open back (so so elegant!) and another with a cami top and matching skirt iImmediately I thought of all the places I would wear such beauties but ultimately passed on these two as well.

The pieces I selected were on my wishlist for at least a month. Keeping a wishlist on my Notes app (I talk about it here) is still a must.

What I enjoy most about shopping is the experience of it all; retail service, client care, and the overall aesthetics. JAMES PERSE dressing rooms are some of the most beautiful; the lighting is warm and the mirror is perfection.

I feel like there is something so timeless about a monochrome look. This set is so breathable and light; the color is beautiful and though it has a luxurious feel, low maintenance when it comes to wear and care.

This backless halter dress made me feel so sophisticated and put together. This would look great styled with a clutch and my Vans slip ons (cue wrong shoe theory)

Also anticipating vampy colors for fall, especially the wine reds and browney-black hues.
